If you’re in search of a tradeshow logo rug, then you might consider how the folks over at Prodrive handled their project. They new exactly what they wanted. They wanted a cool rug that captured their logo colors exactly, they wanted a good quality rug because they also sell a good quality product, and they wanted it fast.
Tradeshow rugs are a big part of our product mix. We understand that you are usually pressed for time and that your budget may be limited. Rush projects can be squeezed through in 7-10 days. It’s better if you plan ahead because you will save money.

Hi Russell,
Just a quick note to let you know our show was a success and the rug a big hit! Thank you for your diligence in fixing the color – it made a tremendous difference and the corporate colors are spot on!
We will be using this rug for years to come!
Pls see attached.
Thanks again,

Here’s another project for an artists gallery showing. We produced a handful of these rugs – size 4×4 in a few different colors. These are not cheap printed rugs. Each piece and color is inlaid into the main body of the carpet. We start with a good image of the artwork, next we produce a template, then we begin the inlay process. At this point the rug is still an ugly duckling. What it needs next is a good cleanup – usually we carve or bevel the rugs to sharpen and clean it up. This can be a basic top shearing or a more detailed v-cut bevel between all the colors and seams. This way, you’re getting the best quality for your money.
This is a freeform rug in the shape of his head – similar to the previous post.

This is a recent project that we produced for an art exhibit. The artist Jeff Koons is known for this style of art and the tie was a nice touch. This is the actual rug, it’s all freeform. All of the edge-binding needs to be done by hand. It was a fun project. We like it when we get strange requests… keeps things interesting around here.

We produced this custom logo mat for the recruiting center in San Diego, CA. In this project we had to re-create the artwork. The client had a rough idea on the layout concept, which was enough for us to run with. When we need to re-create artwork, we generally charge $99.00 for two layout concepts.
If you have the artwork in .eps., .ai or .pdf (needs to be editable pdf), then we do not charge for any setups. We simply take your artwork and create a few layout ideas within minutes. We can go back and forth with color variations until you’re satisfied – usually we can nail this down quickly.

So what if you don’t have a logo? It’s very easy these days to buy a logo package for $100-200 dollars. Fifteen years ago, this was unheard of. If you wanted a professional logo, you had to pay the big bucks – we’re talking thousands of dollars for a good quality logo design.
Fast forward to 2009 – you have multiple options with professional websites offering logos at highly competitive rates. Some are even free! Vistaprint has a little logo creation program that works fine for quickie logos on the fly.
Now why do they do this for free?
All I can tell you is that Vistaprint is HUGE. They service over 30,000 orders a day. As part of their strategy, they have developed a platform of free services that add extra value to their site. In other words they can afford to do it.
I like to surf the internet for products that are related to my industry. The big industries that I can see are most relevant would be anything with logos and promotional type items.
Promotional products are used extensively in trade shows and used as gifts or giveaways. I’ve noticed there are a ton of promotional sites out there – so how do you choose?
I’ll be reviewing those sites that are most popular in the way of traffic and search engine ranking. So what am I looking for in promotional product site?
I’m looking for smart navigation, easy checkout for buying items, clean and attractive looking site and most of all a good reputation.
The first review is for BestPromotions.com.
What I see here at this site, I really like. It’s easy to navigate. Items are categorized at top of page. They have a blog. If you want to buy something, it’s about 3 clicks away.
Two Thumbs Up.
Here’s a sharp looking entrance mat for a surfboard shop. Size 4 x 6. I believe this was mounted on the wall as a wall hanging.

There are times when TV stations have special events going on. Fox Sports requested this for a Major League Baseball event broadcast. Size 8′ diameter.

The US ARMY HQ’s in Bethesda, MD requested a 12 x 20 logo rug for their main lobby. If you ever need large scale logo rugs or logo mats then this type of logo rug is the best option.
The only other alternative is to go with a digital printed carpet process. You’ll see this used in some trade show environments or large scale installations. The problem with digital printing is inconsistency in how the image appears from different angles, and less frequently, dye track off. The printing processes are far from perfect at this time, and understandably so, if you can imagine the challenge of getting an even dye transfer onto carpet. When they do succeed – it’s always a very short, dense carpet that barely fits the description of actually being true carpet!
The only company that I know of that has this method mastered in a true cut-pile carpet is Milliken Carpet. They generally do printed patterns for commercial projects like hotels etc and they are very good at what they do.
At Mastercraft, our method is foolproof. We inlay all of the various colors into the main field or background piece. The colors are expertly seamed and glued in place, then reinforced even further using proprietary adhesives. These rugs can last for years if properly maintained.

This is a commercial entry mat for BlueWater Industries. We used thick plush nylon – residential grade carpet – for this project. The difference between using residential and commercial are best explained in this article. In this case the client was looking for a plush interior rug for their lobby.
Size 5′ diameter, using non slip backing, and color matched edge binding.
